ACCOMMODATION
You have two accommodation options with the LTL Summer Camp.
Your child can sign up for the homestay camp or the residence camp.
Our homestay camp is with a Chinese homestay family, allowing your child to experience Chinese culture first hand, whilst practicing language skills as much as possible.
The residence camp allows students to live together with other summer program participants in shared rooms.
A program coordinator lives with the participants, organizing activities, support and supervision during the program.
FAQs FOR PARENTS
Can I set rules for my child?
Yes you can.
Before your child comes to our Summer Camp in China, Taiwan or Vietnam you will fill out our parent questionnaire where you can define rules for your child during their time there.
What happens if my child gets sick?
There are very good international medical facilities available in all of the cities listed above.
Doctors speak English – and a lot of other languages too – and the service quality is very high.
Prices are not cheap though, so please make sure your child is insured.
We will accompany your child to the hospital, in case of an emergency at any time of the day/night needed.
Why do under 18’s stay with homestay families?
Our homestay families are great with teenagers.
They look after their host children very well and provide not only a safe but also comfortable environment at home that allows your child to explore from a safe home base.
They also provide supervision and help with enforcing the rules you set for your child.
Are Taiwan and mainland China safe?
Both mainland China and Taiwan are two of the world’s safest places.
Traffic however is more chaotic than many other countries, so please make sure you tell your child to follow our instructions regarding road safety.
Also English is not widely spoken in either mainland China or Taiwan.
Who do I contact if there are problems?
During the program, your child’s guardian is always your first point of contact.
If your child does not have a guardian program, please contact your student advisor.
In case of emergencies, we are contactable 24/7.
For non-urgent questions you will have a reply latest by the next working day.
Should I buy health insurance for my child?
Yes absolutely.
Please make sure it covers international clinics and hospitals in mainland China and Taiwan.
Can families participate as well as just children?
Yes, parents can accompany their children to the Summer Camp and either take a language course on their own, share accommodation with their child or take a break and explore while their child is at the summer camp.
Please enquire with us for a tailor made program for you and your family.
Is lunch included in the Summer Camp?
Yes lunch is included for all summer camp students.
After the morning classes, we accompany the children to a restaurant where we’ll fill up on food before going out to explore the sights.
Can siblings and friends come together?
Absolutely yes.
We even offer a 5% discount for any summer camp participants who sign up together.
