Synonymous with life in Singapore. Chilli crab!

You’ll be hard pressed to avoid it in truth.

The chilli crab isn’t as spicy as you might think though. So this suits all palettes.

It’s cooked in a sweet and savoury tomato and chilli-based sauce.

Chilli crab is promoted largely by the Singapore Tourism Board

We have our favourite spots to grab Singapore Chilli Crab so no need to stress on where to go.

Welcome Breakfast

On various Monday mornings throughout the year we host our LTL welcome breakfast.

This is a great chance for students to get to know each other right from kick-off. You don’t even need to be starting that day to join, everyone is welcome.

We’ll be sure to have coffee along with the traditional Singaporean breakfast.

Singapore’s Museums

Singapore is not shy when it comes to museums. There are a tonne of them!

We try to visit them as often as possible to show you Singapore’s incredible collection.

The National Museum of Singapore is the oldest museum in Singapore and one of the more famous.

This museum contains a huge collection of exhibits related to the history of Singapore and other Asian civilizations.

Sentosa Adventure Cove Waterpark

A weekend spent at Cove Waterpark is a weekend well spent, no doubt about that!

This is Singapore’s one and only waterpark so they made sure they got it bang on!

Escape the heat during the weekends with this gem located on Sentosa island.

If you have the taste for more, Tanjong Beach Club is just up the road. This is a great spot to enjoy a piña colada and chill out with the Singapore sunset.

Explore Little India

Little India has played a significant role in the development of Singapore.

At the turn of the 20th century, due to large amounts of Indian immigration, the district began to look like an ethnic Indian neighbourhood, hence the name Little India.

This is a great part of Singapore to visit and discover.

Of course Little India includes delicious food and garments shopping.

BONUS – come to Little India during a holy festival such as Deepavali. Why? You’ll see the entire area come alive with colours and lights.

Play sports with the locals

Playing sport is a great way to get to know the locals, learn a bit of Chinese, and stay fit. 3 for price of 1.

Grab yourself a tennis partner, check out the football or basketball courts or join the local running team!

If you like keeping active, there are plenty of opportunities to do so in Singapore.

Don’t forget to pack your sports gear so you are fully equipped when you get here.

LTL Market Trip

When you think of shopping in Singapore you’ll probably think of luxury shopping.

Whilst that is not wrong (especially if you head down to Orchard Road which is one of the most high-end shopping experiences on the planet) it might surprise you to learn there are some great spots in Singapore which sell high-quality goods at very affordable costs.

Where is best? A place called Bugis Street.

It is a three story complex famous for its cheap and wonderful souvenirs which include clothes, electronics, houseware, and cosmetics.

We’ll be sure to take you along for the ride!

Stand-up Comedy

There’s no better way to end a day than full of laughter.

There is a terrific stand-up comedy scene in Singapore and we’ll drop along to one or two whilst you are here.

There are half a dozen venues having regular shows featuring local and foreign talent.

We are no stranger to all the venues and shows. Surprise, surprise

We will keep upcoming shows displayed at our school so you know when the next one is.

Discovering comedy in a language can give you incredible insight into the countries culture so be sure to come along to this one.

Pub Quiz

We are no stranger to a pub quiz. The event proved popular at our first school in Beijing and has took off ever since with students keen to take the big prize!

It’s a great way to unwind and hang out with classmates and teachers and never seems to die in popularity.

The Prince of Wales bar in Little India on Wednesdays is a popular spot for us but in truth there are a few around. Pub quiz kicks off at 8 PM.

We’ll arrange an official LTL table.

There are always 6 rounds, which always start off with general knowledge, music, and picture-based sessions. The other 3 rounds vary weekly.

The winner gets a $50 voucher so prepare yourself for some fierce competition!

LTL Lunch Club

Lunch club, another old-time LTL tradition that has proved so popular we always roll it out to all our cities.

We’re proud of the inclusive and open environment created by our staff and students. As such we love lunch club!

We order food every week, mixing it up as we go, and get together to enjoy the food and the chit-chat in between lessons.

LTL School Dinners

Food in Singapore is delicious, so we have to share it with you.

Excellent local food, with much influence from other cultures, there is almost no dish Singapore doesn’t do well.

We mix it up again, whether it be Singaporean, Malay, Indian or Western. We’ll also listen to any suggestions you have also

We’ll take you to the best places in town. Can’t decide? Then we’re off to a hawker centre for a feast and some good times

Costs will depend on how much we eat and drink, but is usually comes to roughly 25 SG per person.

Movie Night

Learning Chinese through TV and movie is much more valuable and useful than you may know.

We turn our common area into a little private cinema in the evening and kick back with a movie so you can enhance your Chinese whilst enjoying cinema,

The movie will be in Chinese but the subtitles are in English so even if your Chinese level isn’t too high you’ll still be able to enjoy.

Don’t forget we have free tea and coffee (and even beer after 5pm, but whisper it quietly)!
